Gum Surgeries
Gum disease essentially starts due to improper or insufficient cleaning of teeth. When plaque, tartar (calculus), and other deposits remain on the teeth for longer periods, it leads to gum disease. Bleeding gums are the first and most common sign (Gingivitis). Untreated, the gum and bone support around the teeth are gradually reduced and this eventually leads to the loosening of teeth. In medical terms, this is called Periodontitis.
You could be having a gum problem if you complain of one of the following symptoms:
-
Bleeding gums
-
Foul breath.
-
Loose shaky teeth
-
Lodging of food between the teeth

This specialty requires additional training beyond general dentistry. A high level of skill including surgical ability is necessary for a periodontist to deliver safe and effective treatment.
Periodontal disease, more commonly known as gum disease, is a disease that attacks the gum and bone around the teeth. It is the number one cause of tooth loss in adults. Periodontal disease is a term that encompasses both gingivitis (gum disease) and periodontitis (disease of the gum, bone, and other supporting structures of the tooth).
